Masculine Theme Party – Part 2

As promised, I am back today with the final 2 projects from my masculine themed party.  I honestly had so much fun creating these – they are literally pulled together from a whole heap of scraps on my desk, along with all the dirty stamps that were lying around after being used on the previous projects!

First up is this fun decor sign.  It was inspired by one for a carnival/circus themed party and as soon as I saw it, the words Man Cave popped into my head and I just knew I had to make one!

Mans sign 4

I created this using traditional paper and stamps etc but it would be a FANTASTIC project to create in MDS (and even better if you had a digital cutter to pair it with!)

Mans Sign 1The final project i created was this great 8×8″ mini album to act as a guest book!  There is plenty of room for guests to leave a message or words of wisdom for the recipient, plus each page is also a pocket so photos, or cards etc can be stored after the party.

Wisdom 7

wisdom 6There was no plan when decorating all the pages in this album – I just kept in mind all of the elements I had used on the other projects ie flags, circles, splotches etc and just kept repeating them.  It was literally a case of just throwing stuff at the page, but somehow it all came out looking great!Wisdom 2Wisdom 1wisdom 5

Masculine Party Theme

Sorry for the sudden lack of posts- I had a small accident last Wednesday that damaged my left eye and meant I couldn’t see pretty much anything for several days.  The good news is that it is healing well and I am back into the swing of things!

Today I wanted to share the 3rd and final party theme I created for my demonstrator booth at Stampin’ Up!’s North American Convention.  This one is my absolute favourite – it was fun to create and all just came together exactly how I wanted.  PLUS it’s one for the blokes (which is often the hardest theme to do) and could be used for a birthday, retirement or stag night!

First up, the party invitation:

I started with the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper and Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set, and then threw as many ‘manly’ products as I could at it!  There are lots of little touches to these projects – paper piercing, twine, buttons, sanding..

Next up is a box to hold all of the goodies from the BBQ!  These new large gift boxes from the upcoming Holiday Catalogue are such a great size as they hold a really decent amount!

Thanks BagThere are 2 more  projects from this event to share, but there are lots of photos so I am going to save those for tomorrows post!  They are my absolute favourite projects of the last couple of years so you definitely don’t want to miss them!

Pistachio and Gold Party Theme

I was honoured to be asked to present in one of the Demonstrator Booths during the North American Convention in Salt Lake City.  The theme I was asked to work to was Party & Event Planning – couldn’t really get much better for me, right??

The brief asked us to create 15 projects for display and demonstrate some of them in a 15 minute time slot (which we then had to repeat over and over for 3 hours!) I decided to divide my projects into 3 distinct themes: a super feminine event (birthday/Mothers Day/bridal shower…), a masculine theme (birthday, retirement event…) and a bright, fun kids party.

Today I am sharing the feminine event projects.  I quickly decided on a Pistachio Pudding & Gold theme after some inspiration from Pinterest, and then after playing with the new Gift Bow Bigz Die (coming out in the Holiday Catalogue on 1 September) I fell in love with that and had to incorporate that too:

This little favour box was the first project I completed and then based all of the other items from this.  The box itself is one of the Decorative Window Gift Boxes (another sneak peek from the Holiday Catalogue), it actually has a cute window in the lid but I covered it up this time.Pistachio Box I added a little extra detail by splattering the box with gold embossing.  I also just LOVE the Stretch Ruffled Ribbon for layering like this – because it is stretchy it clings to your project really nicely!Pistachio Box CloseNext up is the invitation to the party:
