It’s time for a new Catalogue!! Yes, the Holiday Catalogue starts today and in true ESAD tradition we have a Blog Hop for you! If you have been following the Hop you should have just arrived from the fabulous Emily Campbell’s blog. Otherwise join the Hop here and just follow the link at the bottom to continue on!
I have so much to share with you today, including a bonus tutorial, so I hope that you have your beverage of choice ready to enjoy, along with the projects!
Each catalogue release, demonstrators can earn FREE product bundles and one of the bundles that I received from the Holiday Catalogue was a Thanksgiving themed bundle of the Magnificent Maple stamp set, Sweater Weather DSP and Thankful Tablescape Simple Created Kit. The Tablescape Kit is designed to make 10 place settings along with other decorative elements for a Thanksgiving meal table that looks like this:
Of course, we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in New Zealand, so I had to get creative and come up with other ways to use these great products. Thankfully with Fathers Day this weekend, I could combine it all into this great gift package and card
The boxes above were demonstrated by Jenni Pauli at her booth at the US Convention, and are a fabulous Origami fold box which means no cutting or adhesive is required! They each started as a square of Sweater Weather DSP – 12″, 10″ and 8″ respectively. The other elements all come from the Thankful Tablescape Kit, which also provided the items for the matching card.
When I first opened the Thankful Tablescape Kit and saw the napkin holders, I immediately saw them being repurposed into a box, and started scoring and folding to create this
The box is a fabulous size to hold many different gifts, or you could make a batch of coordinating notecards to go in it, which is what I did
So would you like to know how to turn your napkin holders into a box?? Here’s a quick photo tutorial for you:
Open out envelope and starting at the longest edge, score at 1 1/2″, 5 5/8″, 8 7/8″ & 13″ Fold along all score lines except the pre-scored line at the intersection of the wide part and the narrow part.
Cut off excess paper as shown in above photo to create closure tabs
Apply sticky strip along closure tabs and then fold up to create your box. Decorate your box as you wish! I have created a little image below that you can pin to Pinterest so you can find this tutorial again easily.
Well that’s it from me today, so now you can click through to Delys Cram’s blog and continue the Hop! Have a great day!
